It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through our week here at the ‘Rado. The middle of the week could mean that campers and staff begin to lose energy, but luckily for us, camp is a place of constant energy and excitement! Things only seem to get better and better each day!

Another awesome part of the middle of the week is watching cabins come together for a common purpose. Whether campers come to camp alone or in a group, there is no denying that the daily activities of camp require a little teamwork. Each camper begins their day in a competition to see who can achieve the cleanest cabin (we like to call it Pit n’ Palace). This obviously takes a great amount of coordination. After all, no single camper is able to complete all the necessary steps to achieving a “palace” (our name for the cleanest cabin of the day). It certainly is exciting to see how campers come together the win the coveted Golden Plunger each day!

But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
-1 Corinthians 12: 19-20

Activity classes are no exception to the spirit of camaraderie. At field sports and court sports, cabins not only learn how to compete as a team but are also taught the importance of sportsmanship and encouragement. At the zipline and the blob, campers are encouraged to face their fears as a cabin. There is nothing like watching cabin mates come together to support one another as they try new things at camp!

The friendships formed at camp are unlike any other. As each camper experiences a new environment, they grow closer to each other and create once-in-a-lifetime memories. These friendships allow campers to feel more comfortable in the camp environment and eventually open up to their cabin and counselors. How cool is it to know that these friendships are opening doors for the Gospel to be shared! As we continue through our week, those of you at home can be praying for godly unity within cabins. Pray for the creation of a safe and nurturing environment and for friendships that break down walls and ultimately allow for the love of Christ to be shared.
