Happy Tuesday from the Ridge! Here’s the low-down on what’s happening:

Yesterday, we woke up and spent time with Jesus, then headed to the Cav, our dining hall, for breakfast. After that (that’s after that), we went to our activity classes. Campers said some of their favorite activities are the Pinnacle, the game room, and the Arches, our ropes course!

Next, we went to lunch where some lucky granola girls won the Spirit Stick and the Chariot of Cleanliness! Congrats to Smath’s cabin!

Then, we watched some strange fruits named The Tomato and Big Grape practice their wrestling moves. Apparently, there’s a big match coming up that they need to train for! They were interrupted by an Italian man named Howie Doin’. Him and his family bake cannolis and he threatened to destroy the Ridge and turn it into a Cannoli Factory! Do you think that Big Grape and The Tomato can stop them? Stay tuned.

During our good ole’ Bible study, we studied Acts 16, when the Church at Philippi begins. In this story, we learn about three different characters. The Lord opened Lydia’s heart to pay attention and she was baptized. When Paul became greatly annoyed with the slave girl, he commanded the demon to come out of her in the name of Jesus Christ. After Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God in PRISON (they were joyful because they had the honor of suffering for Christ), an earthquake opened the doors of the cell. The jailer asked them what he could do to be saved. These three characters had different economic, social and spiritual backgrounds, yet God used them to create the Church at Philippi.

At Free Time, campers got to adventure to the ropes course, play basketball in the gym, and buy snacks and gear from the Camp Store! Camper’s favorite snack: Dibs (obviously)!

At Club, the campers learned about the dangers of comparison. In the story about Martha and Mary, Martha was working for recognition, while Mary lay humbly at Jesus’ feet. When we’re suffering through stress and anxiety, like Martha, we should go to the source of JOY and lay our fears before Him.

Lastly, we gathered in the Big Bend, our gym, for Mascot Mashup! We played in an extreme dodgeball tournament, which included Lion Ball and Pirate Ball, before heading off to bed.

We’re having a blast here at the Ridge! We kindly ask for your prayers as we head into day 2. It has been a joy getting to know campers and serve alongside our brothers and sisters. Our prayer is that the gospel would be preached and hearts would be changed for eternity by the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ. Make sure you keep checking back for updates. Thanks for reading!

God Bless,

Ridge Team
