Yesterday was another fun-filled day at the Pine Cove Towers! Following breakfast, we spent the morning in activity classes such as horses, jumbo games, the hydroplane, and tea time!
At lunch, we spent time remembering some of America’s highlights, got another segment in our skit (based on America becoming a nation), and birthday wrapped America, represented by George Washington! Happy 241st America!
Yesterday’s bible study focused on love throughout the story of Jonathan. Jonathan had such a deeply rooted love for his friend David, that the bible describes Jonathan’s soul as being “knit to David’s” (1 Samuel 18:1) Here we see a love so great, yet far surpassed by the love our Father has for us. Yesterday’s memory verse was 1 Corinthians 13:7,
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things
After dinner, we had ourselves a good old-fashioned hoedown at our “Wild Wild West” theme night! Campers spent the evening line dancing, jumping in bounce houses, eating snow cones, and learning to rope. Our wranglers even put on a rodeo! Even though the horses were just sticks with stuffed heads and the steer were men in costumes, they put on quite a show!
SURPRISE! After club, we had a fireworks show! We love America and couldn’t wait to celebrate. Thank you to all of you who spend time fighting for our freedom! As we celebrated, we got to teach campers that while this country is free, the truest freedom can only be found in Christ!
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. -Galatians 5:1
