Happy Tuesday from the Ridge! Here’s the low-down about what’s happening:
Yesterday, we woke up and spent time with Jesus, then headed to the Cav, our dining hall, for breakfast. After that (that’s after that), we went to our activity classes. At Lake Time, Argo did a backflip off the bike jump. Campers said some of their favorite activities are the Pinnacle, the game room, and the Arches, our ropes course!
Next, we went to lunch where some lucky cabins won the Spirit Stick and the Chariot of Cleanliness!
Then, we watched Giggles and Gert put on their YouTube cooking show. Sadly, it was interrupted by Vinny (short for Vendetta) who said he hated camp! He and his pet rat are planning to make camp really dirty. Do you think Giggles and Gert can show good stewardship and keep camp clean? Check back tomorrow to see what happens next!
During our good ole’ Bible study, we studied Philippians 1, where Paul writes to his beloved friends in the Church at Philippi. We learned that our lives are to be lived for Jesus and His ultimate glory. We do this through how we love others in and outside of the church, in good times or bad times, and ultimately for the proclamation of the gospel. Our life is to proclaim Jesus and that brings true JOY. AMEN!
At Free Time, campers got to adventure to the ropes course, play basketball in the gym, and buy snacks and gear from the Camp Store! Camper’s favorite snack: Dibs (obviously)!
At Club, the campers learned about the dangers of comparison. In the story about Martha and Mary, Martha was working for recognition, while Mary lay humbly at Jesus’ feet. When we’re suffering through stress and anxiety, like Martha, we should go to the source of JOY and lay our fears before Him.
Lastly, we gathered in the Big Bend, our gym, for Mascot Mashup! We played in an extreme dodgeball tournament, which included Lion Ball and Pirate Ball, before heading off to bed.
We’re having a blast here at the Ridge! We kindly ask for your prayers as we head into day 2. It has been a joy getting to know campers and serve alongside our brothers and sisters. Our prayer is that the gospel would be preached and hearts would be changed for eternity by the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ. Make sure you keep checking back for updates. Thanks for reading!
