Happy Thursday from the Ridge! Do you hear the sound of your alarm clock going off? No? That’s because yesterday was SLEEP IN DAY!

On Wednesday, we had a slow morning that included time with Jesus, breakfast, and a special activity class. Some campers went to the pool for water aerobics, some went to the Conga for Zumba, some went to the Cav for karaoke, some went to the gym (Big Bend), and some went to the game room (The Pinnacle)!

Next, we headed to Big Bend for a giant all-camp game of Zorb ball! Everyone’s a winner in Zorb ball, so congratulations campers!

At lunch, we awarded a single cabin with the Chariot of Cleanliness and the Spirit Stick! Congrats to Samoa 1. #CleanSweep

We ate some delicious lunch in the Cav, then watched Doug come out to motivate us once again. When the Bubble and his son, the Booger, came out, they brought Big Mucus. Big Chungas is officially gone for good! Then they did something so evil. They put a hidden video camera in Doug’s office and captured him on the phone with his mom! He was saying that he doesn’t actually have his motivational speakers license and no one knows! He isn’t a real motivational speaker. But, we love Doug anyways. Cooper stood up and told Doug that he’s an engineer because of Doug’s motivation. So, Doug tried it out. Shredder stood up and told us that he always wanted to be a basketball player, but he’s too small. Doug told him to believe and Shredder transformed into a 6′ 7″ man! Then, Oozey stood up and told us that he has never had a girlfriend. This was just him wanting to join in on the speaking, though. Because we believed Doug, he’s going to devise a plan to stop the Bubble and his evil minions.

After lunch, we went back to our cabins for some good ole’ Bible study. We learned in Philippians 2 that our minds and our example to the world (the way we live) should follow the example of Jesus. In Jesus, we have a unity that derives from selfless, humble service. This example is given to us in Jesus and will shine brightly to all around us. Our mind is to be committed to Jesus, our JOY to be complete in Him.

At Club, we learned about the danger of self-indulgence through the story of Solomon in Ecclesiastes. Pleasure will not give us joy because our hearts are after something much more permanent. We find this permanence in Jesus who gives everlasting fulfillment.

The day ended with an awesome dance party for our theme night: Drive-Thru Swervice. It may have even included a dance-off between Bean and one of her campers! Is your favorite Pine Cove dance the Chainsaw or Church Clap??

Thanks for reading along as we continue to have a blast and learn about the Lord! We pray that hearts would be opened to the joyous truth of the gospel of Christ. Happy reading!

God Bless,

Ridge Team
