Here at the Shores, we love to goof around and have fun with campers, but there is a deeper purpose than simply having fun that makes Pine Cove what it is. Our main purpose is loving the campers and sharing with them the salvation we have in Jesus Christ.
So many campers come through our gates every week carrying heavy burdens of sin, sadness, confusion, or guilt that they don’t know what to do with. We are here to tell them that none of that needs to weigh them down, and that Jesus has already overcome all of our struggles by His death on the cross! Whatever insecurities or doubts that campers have about themselves, we hope to wipe away so that everyone might understand that they are loved, valuable, and spotless in Christ Jesus.
High School is a difficult time in everyone’s life; a time of challenge, fun, and growth. But this is the freedom of the gospel— the Creator of the universe loves us and values us so dearly, and that’s where our identity comes from. We don’t need to look for fulfillment in friends, popularity, sports, or academics; all of these will fade. What remains true is that God loves us, He created us to be unique, and we will find our true identity in Him and Him alone. If the campers at the Shores learn anything during their stay here, we hope it is this.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
