Howdy, parents! Merry Christmas Eve in July!

Today’s date is July 24, which means that we are getting closer and closer to Christmas. And there is no better way to celebrate than to dedicate this special time with a Christmas-themed Friday! There was no holding back when it came to decorations, sporting our green and red, and even having a holly, jolly dance party at free time! Our spirit stick winners were the men of Stampede with their Christmas Nativity scene, complete with shepherds (they wrapped towels around their heads) and baby Jesus in his manger (one of the boys got inside his open trunk with a blanket). All of camp was filled with the sound of Christmas tunes and carols being blasted through the speakers of the Big Barn, while we bounced to and from all the different activity classes this afternoon for Camper’s Choice! It’s been an absolute blast so far, and we are ecstatic to see what the rest of the day will bring!

One of our favorite things here at Pine Cove is just to be as outrageous and crazy with camp/campers as possible! Yet, we don’t want to forget the real reason for each season, whether it be a holiday or a specific time in our lives. Christ came down and rescued us by concurring death; we who are so incomparably undeserving. Sometimes it’s good to celebrate our holidays without the presents and the distractions of what our needs and wants may be. It helps us to remember that this season… is about His presence.

Our prayer is that on this day when we are halfway to the real celebration of Jesus’ birth, that we might remember Christ in the word “Christmas.”

We hope y’all have had an amazing and restful week. We cannot wait for y’all to be back here tomorrow learning about all that the Lord has done in your campers lives during this awesome Week 8! Prayers go out to you as you travel and get ready to reunite with your precious little angels! Have a great day, Rado people!
