This is our last week of camp at the Towers, and we couldn’t be more excited to spend it with your kids!
My name is Emily “Whenna” Graham and I have the privilege of serving as the Towers’ Secretary this summer. This means I primarily work in the office communicating with many of you on the phone or through email, assisting our camp director, Get Smart, and overseeing many of the small details that go on behind the scenes at camp.
This is my fourth year on staff here at Pine Cove and each summer the Lord teaches me more and more about His unfailing love for us. This past May, I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Community Health! Eventually, I hope to pursue a career in nursing.
I became a Christian at a very young age and ever since then the Lord is teaching me what it means to live a life for Him. I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home with the intentional influence of my family on my life.
I learned so much from my dad as I watched him serve in youth ministry and from my mom as she genuinely loved others at work and in our home. My younger brother, Matthew James, also specifically impacted me. He exemplified a life full of grace and encouraged me to show that same graciousness toward others.
In addition to my family, my experiences at Pine Cove have significantly shaped who I am.
Through the relationships I have developed at camp, I have truly seen the value of community. I’m thankful for those who have challenged, encouraged, and poured into my life. My friendships here have developed and challenged me to encourage and pour into the lives of those around me.
God’s Word exhorts us,
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
I am so thankful for the ministry of Pine Cove not only in my own life, but also because it provides us with the opportunity to make disciples and share the love of Christ. Thanks for trusting your kids with us this week! We are blessed to have a front row seat as God changes our hearts and the hearts of campers!
