During their time at camp, campers have the opportunity to experience activities like the blob, the zip line, and riding horses. Although fun, these activities sometimes involve us stepping out of our comfort zones, which can be scary for a lot of campers. One particular camper was terrified to go off of the zip line, but after some encouragement from staff, decided to give it a try. It’s a beautiful thing to see the way that God can transform fear into rejoicing. A truly amazing part of this story, though, is what happened next.

He said, “I want to go on it again and again. I’m really glad I went ’cause I would’ve regretted it for the rest of my summer.” He then thanked God for helping him overcome his fears, and his hope is that God can help others overcome their fears as well.

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
1 Timothy 1:7
