Week Five is here and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead! As many of our campers begin to make their faith their own this week, we can’t wait to see the ways they will personally step into the plans God has for their lives.

God has given us all a unique direction and path to follow Him. As we start to make our own plans for our lives, we stray from the plan God has laid out for us. Our God has intricately designed us for a specific purpose and in that purpose is where we find the most freedom and joy.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
-Psalm 32:8

A life following the path God has laid for us is better than any path we could make ourselves. Our God is a god of freedom and of life. Apart from Him, we are nothing. As we go through life, we try to find freedom and joy in things apart from God that never sustain. We begin to build up our own lives and design our own paths that lead to nothing.

When we stray, however, our God is still faithful. Our God is not a god who will abandon us; instead, He goes and gets us. Our God is a god of unconditional love and of consistent pursuit. He wants more than anything for us to be walking in the life He has for us. God knows when we will stray and push him away, and time and time again, he calls us out of darkness and back to life in Him.

A life rooted in Christ is a life of fulfillment, and his path will continually lead to purpose and joy in Him.

But now, this is what the Lord says– he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”
-Isaiah 43:1

As we go through Week Five here at the Timbers, we are eager for our campers to discover more of our Savior and find direction and fulfillment in Him!
