Here at Silverado we have lots of safe and exciting activities that campers love! Many of these activities, such as the blob or zip line, are a new experience for our campers and can take a little bit of courage the first time they do them! Sometimes as humans, we let fear invade us and try to keep us from fully experiencing what God has in store for us.
At the beginning of the summer, our staffers memorized Philippians 4: 4-9, which commands us to not be anxious. It tells us that if we present our requests to God with thanksgiving, that His peace will guard our hearts and minds. What an incredible promise! We love being able to share this with campers and pray with them that the Lord will give them courage as they face new experiences!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4: 6-7
It is a joy to see campers relying on the Lord for courage and strength! With it only being Tuesday, there is still so much more fun to be had and lessons to be learned this week. We are excited for what is to come!
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
