Pine Cove Outback is a week filled with fun and growth. Six days of living in a cabin, going to the camp store, hearing amazing club talks and worshiping with new friends. However for some people, one week just isn’t enough and luckily, we have a solution for that!

Cultivate is the name of Outback’s two week program. The goal of these two weeks is to teach campers to create an environment in their lives that the Lord can use for growth and character development. Cultivate accomplishes this through specialized club talks for just the Cultivate campers, opportunities to serve throughout camp and all kinds of extra fun activities.

Because Cultivate goes on at the exact same time as regular camp, we have a summer staffer whose main job is to run Cultivate and help it to be the best it can be. Snapcats is the Cultivate Program Director for 2016. This is Snapcat’s fourth summer at Outback.  She has served as a counselor and Assistant Program Director in previous summers, and is now ready to take on a new side of camp.

One thing Snapcats loves about this program is the fact that there are two weeks to build deeper relationships and walk through more things with the campers. Although running this program has its challenges, Snapcats has already learned a lot and seen God in new ways. One way in particular is His steadfastness. He is never overwhelmed or frazzled, as we so often can be in life. Snapcats has gotten to experience the peace that comes with this truth even in the crazy moments this summer has already brought.

He can handle everything in the world, so I don’t need to.

A verse that she has clung to in the last few weeks is Isaiah 41:13, where it says “I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand.” How cool is it that the God of the universe walks with us, hand in hand, through all of life’s ups and downs?

Be on the lookout for all the cool things Cultivate gets to experience and learn throughout the summer. We are praying expectantly for God to work in crazy ways and change the lives of campers for eternity. And if your camper isn’t a part of the fun this summer, be sure to sign them up for Cultivate 2017!
