Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!
Philippians 4:4

We have had a wonderful day here at the Outback. We can’t believe it’s already Thursday! We started the morning with flag and breakfast, and then we went out to activity classes. When we go to activities, we love looking for little things to celebrate with campers, and we do that through “Records of the Day!” Today there was a camper who did a jig on the Power Pole (a very difficult thing to do), one who caught a fish at the Battle Bridge, and another did TEN backflips on the Orbit, our trampoline in Lake Shalom.

On track with the celebration, at lunch we had delicious, mini corndogs (We love ’em!), and the “Tuck It In Thursday” cheer won Spirit Stick! Their cheer encouraged everyone to tuck their shirts in to look extra nice around camp. Afterwards we had some Good Ole Bible Study back at the cabins where we talked about seeking scripture and songs of praise.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
-Colossians 3:16

We discussed what it means for someone or something to dwell somewhere and how being in the Word allows us to build one another up and drives us to praise God. We talked about worship and how sometimes we try to make it about ourselves, singing songs because they make us feel good. The campers learned worship is about giving glory and honor to God and then got to practice this as a cabin as they sang a song of praise together.

We ended the night by celebrating safety with our dance and camper favorite, CAUTION: Watch Your Dubstep. The campers got decked out in safety gear and danced to all their favorite Pine Cove dances, new and old. Tomorrow morning campers will get to sleep in (just a bit!), and we’ll be off to another awesome day.

Please pray with us.

  1. Pray for continued safety this week.
  2. Pray God would continue to draw hearts to Himself.
  3. Pray that campers would have energy to focus and end the week well.
