And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up on meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Our Amplify campers had a blast helping with the 7th grade trip and then went on a trip to Sonic last night! While the rest of camp was enjoying dinner, club, and our camp classic, Recon, our A-Fly campers were busy serving and enjoying each other’s company. They got to encourage and play games with the 7th graders, introducing them to what it would be like to be a camper at the Timbers! After our friends from the Ranch headed back, we surprised our campers with a trip to Sonic for some drinks, a little volleyball, and a chance to hang out as a cabin. While the drinks were delicious and volleyball is always fun, the best part of the night was getting to see each cabin form deeper relationships and experience what it’s like to be in community with one another!
The concept of community is so important, because it’s within the context of those relationships that we have the ability to tangibly see and experience Christ-like love. Community challenges us to be more like Jesus, provides an emotional support system, and teaches us about forgiveness and being servant-minded.
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Our campers are building deep, long-lasting relationships, but are also learning from one another. Through community, they are learning how to carry each other’s burdens and support one another in Christ. They are learning that they don’t have to walk alone through life, that they have each other to lean on and that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them unconditionally!
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
As our campers come to love each other more, we are continuing to pray that they would lift each other up and continue to grow together in Christ!
