So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
– Colossians 2:6-7

Hey there! My name is Will “Beats” Brown, and I am the Amplify Program Director. This is my fourth summer here at the Pine Cove Timbers! I am going into my fifth year at the University of Alabama, pursuing a degree in General Business. My time here at the Timbers has grown my desire and fueled the Lord’s calling into ministry. Whatever that looks like, whether in youth ministry or as a head pastor of a church, I am open to and hopeful in wherever the Spirit leads me.

My hope for this session of Amplify is that our campers would get to experience two weeks of fun activities that not only fill them with happiness but also point them to our model of Christian life, Jesus Christ. They will get the opportunity to hear from some of Pine Cove full time staff as they learn what it means to serve joyfully, discover more of who Christ is, grow in community with one another, and remember the work that the Lord is doing in their lives. My prayer is that the Amplify program would be an avenue for these campers to hear of and experience the grace and love Christ has for them. I also pray that the Holy Spirit would fill these campers, so much so that they would go back ready and enabled to be ambassadors for Christ wherever they are.

Through my summers at camp, I’ve realized that no matter how much you plan or how much you try to make things perfect, it is ultimately all rooted in God’s timing and His sovereignty. With that said, I know that the Amplify program is nothing without the power of God, so I ask you as parents to come along side of me in prayer for the rest of this week. Please pray that they would see God in a new light. That they would be able to relate to their cabin mates so that they understand what community looks like. That they would feel loved by their counselor, and that this enables them to feel loved even when they are away from home. Most importantly, that they would begin to fully see and know the unconditional and infinite love God has for them and to live in that freely.

I’m thankful for this opportunity to get to know and pour into your camper, and am excited for the rest of this week together!
