Week one of camp kicked off this past Sunday, and we as a staff could not be more thrilled! We are so thankful and excited for the opportunity to study and share God’s word with your campers. Opening day at the Towers was a success as 276 campers checked in, moved into cabins, and met their counselors.

Camp activity classes began Monday morning after flag and breakfast. Campers split up into cabins and attended 18 different one-hour activity stations. These activities included gaga ball, rock wall climbing, horseback riding, pool games, archery, and zip lining. After breaking for lunch, these activities continued into the afternoon. The weather made for a beautiful day of fun adventures for the first full day of camp!

The day’s activity classes were followed by cabin bible study. Monday’s lesson focused on the story of Noah and the Ark. We talked about Noah on the first day because of the great faith he displayed while trusting and following God’s plan. We defined faith as “a confident trust in the eternal God”. The bible verse we taught to affirm the lesson was Hebrews 11:19 – “Faith is the confidence in what we hope for.”

After bible study, campers enjoyed free time. Many explored the camp store, played games, and participated in “hang times” with their counselors. Monday was completed with dinner, reflection time, and the Pitch Black Attack theme night! P.B.A camper costumes consisted of crazy camouflage, face paint, and flashlight gear. Campers worked together to ‘beat the evil Posse’ and save the Towers camp from destruction!

We are so happy that campers are finally here! It is a joy seeing camp come to life with many happy faces, camp cheers, and exciting events. Proclaiming the gospel while having fun is something Pine Cove is and will always be passionate about.
