Happy Thursday from the Ridge! And Happy Fourth of July!
But let’s talk about Tuesday. We woke up, spent time with Jesus, ate some delicious food, and headed out to our activity classes.
At lunch, we awarded some lucky cabins with the Chariot of Cleanliness and the Spirit Stick. Congratulations to Haleakala 3 & 4 for winning the Spirit Stick for the second day in a row! And congratulations to Gunnison 4 for winning Pit ‘N Palace!
Next, we headed to the dining hall to watch Osmataz Thudbucket and his cousin Tub lead us in some chants about our beloved country. Squire arrived with Lord Blueberry, but behind his back announced that he is trapped and being held against his will! THEN, Lord Blueberry and Squire brought out a bald eagle (we loved it). They asked Big Chungus if he loves eagles, which he obviously does, then proceeded to shave Chungus’ head to turn him into their own bald eagle. All of these evil things are nothing compared to what they want to do to the Ridge. They plan on destroying it and getting rid of the greatest holiday, the 4th of July!
During our good ole’ Bible study, we studied Philippians 1, where Paul writes to his beloved friends in the Church at Philippi. We learned that our lives are to be lived for Jesus and His ultimate glory. We do this through how we love others in and outside of the church, in good times or bad times, and ultimately for the proclamation of the gospel. Our life is to proclaim Jesus and that brings true JOY. AMEN!
At Free Time, campers checked out the Camp Store and had some awesome hang times with their counselors!
At Club, the mountain men and granola girls split up to learn about how to find joy in purity.
Finally, we finished off the day with an awesome dance party called Drive-Thru Swervice! It may have even included a dance-off between Bean and one of her campers!
We’re having a blast here at the Ridge! We kindly ask for your prayers as we head into the middle of the week. It has been a joy getting to know campers and serve alongside our brothers and sisters. Our prayer is that the gospel would be preached and hearts would be changed for eternity by the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ. Make sure you keep checking back for updates. Thanks for reading!
