Yesterday was our first full day of camp at the Towers! Campers woke up at promptly 7:30am, and began preparing for the day by getting dressed and cleaning the cabin for our Pit ’n Palace challenge! Then, we gathered together to raise our nation’s flag.
At 8:30, we had breakfast, and campers headed out for their first round of activity classes. Activities include classes such as the pool, gaga ball, and horses! In step with being Christ- Centered, Others-Focused, and Seriously-Fun, campers are shown ways to apply the Gospel in all times and activities.
The day’s activity classes were followed by cabin bible study. Monday’s lesson focused on the story of Noah and the Ark. We talked about Noah on the first day because of the great faith he displayed while trusting and following God’s plan. We defined faith as “a confident trust in the eternal God”. Our memory verse was Hebrews 11:1 –
Faith is the confidence in what we hope for.
Our theme night was none other than Pitch Black Attack! During PBA, the evil posse comes to take over the Towers. Campers, with the help of their counselors, traveled around camp from checkpoint to checkpoint without getting caught. If they DID get caught, the goal was to act out the most convincing story to try and get away!
We feel so blessed to have spent our first full day here at camp with your campers! If you don’t already, follow us on Instagram (@pinecovetowers) for fun photos and stories throughout the week!
