Everyday, campers here at the Shores go to activity classes, where they can have fun going down the zip line, playing sports, swimming in the lake, or at any of our other fun classes. However, on Wednesdays we have a different schedule.

On Wednesdays, the campers get to go to seminars on several different topics, which range from how to read your bible, or how to share the gospel, to the importance of serving others. Before the campers break off into their different groups, there is an awesome time of worship, which we don’t normally have in the middle of the day. Because of this, Wednesdays offer everyone a great chance to spend the day focusing on the real reason we’re all at camp; growing closer to the Lord and learning more about Him.

High school students have reached an age where they can understand and comprehend the gospel. They can understand that Jesus’ death on the cross means no more shame or guilt for us. That we are free from this world to live a life that is not our own, and follow the Lord as a response to His endless love for us. Seminars exist to take them a step further, offering them practical insight and advice on issues that we know they, as students in high school, are facing.

We love getting to have fun and go crazy with our campers. However, what really gets us going is having opportunities to teach campers about Jesus, following Him, and living life in His love and freedom.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
