Good Evening Parents!
Here at the Towers, we have wrapped up this week with a lot of fun! Earlier this morning, campers got to take part in Camper Bounce instead of going to Activity Classes. Camper Bounce is where all the campers are able to pick different activities they want to do today. Instead of rotating with the cabin, they are able to pair up with 2 other campers and head out to do many different activities! Many campers headed to the ropes course where they climbed the Gauntlet and then zipped down the biplane zipline, while others jumped into the Sea of Narnia to battle it out on the battle mat with a counselor! Throughout the morning, campers could be seen all across camp having a blast!
This evening campers got to experience the most exciting time for Towers’ campers…. THE BUFFALO HUNT!! This was a time of excitement and laughter as campers set out to capture buffalo (counselors) and win back the Towers for the campers in the most epic location, the Buffalo Pit! On any given Friday night during the summer, you will find the Buffalo Pit filled with campers having the time of their lives getting covered in mud, and battling the counselors to win back the Towers. This was true for us tonight as campers were covered in mud from head to toe and having a blast! Who wouldn’t want to take a break and play in the mud!?
As we conclude this week, we would like to encourage all of the parents and families reading this. This past week there have been lots of rain here in East Texas, this always causes an interesting twist in our plans. This creates worry and stress for many of the staff, but we sit down and give it to God. We earnestly seek to follow God’s will, and this is foundational for Pine Cove. Pine Cove exists to be used by God to transform the lives of people for His purposes and His glory! We are here to be used by God, even when our plans don’t go the way we want, we trust in the fact that our God has a better plan for us and we strive to follow it. We’ve seen this to be true this week as God provided for us whether it be holding off the rain during Night at the Museum theme night, or providing us with the guidance to still have fun with your campers and show them the love of God while playing inside. We had an awesome week with your campers, and we pray that they place their hope and trust in Him, the giver of life!
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.””
