Week one here at the Ranch is off to an awesome start! Last night was our first ever ‘Zooza Palooza’, and tonight our 6th graders stay here for ‘Technicolor Choas’ while our 7th graders head over to the Timbers for the 7th grade trip!
One of the most anticipated parts of a camper’s weeks here are getting their activity class schedules on Monday morning – then they get to see all the awesome stuff they’ll be doing in the week! Our newest and arguably most fun addition to activity classes is the slide down at the lake: the Thundergulch. More of a revamped activity class, the Thundergulch not only features the new thirty-foot long slide built three stories up in the air, but also a jump tower and zipline!
Camp wouldn’t be the same without these activity classes; it is a time to have fun while getting to know other counselors and campers, plus hearing a little of God’s word. The lake has always been a cool reminder of God’s beauty through nature, and – in the morning especially – points toward Psalms 23:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.
STILL WATERS – THE RANCH LAKESIDE
While camp is mostly a flurry of activity and sometimes chaos (like life can be), we can all rest in the knowledge that there is a Shepherd that brings us to calm places (‘still waters’) right when we need it. He will teach us in those moments, and prepare us for the rest of the craziness that is ahead.
It’s only Tuesday and we know there’s a lot more of camp ahead! We encourage you to be prayerful this week for the Ranch – for fun, safety, and for God to move in all of us here.
Until next time!
