One huge thing that our campers have come to know here at the Timbers is the extent of God’s love for us. God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so that we can live in freedom. Our sins separate us from God, but in God’s great love for us, He sent Jesus as the perfect sacrifice so that we might have a relationship with Him.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
This gift of eternal life is not by anything that we do, but through faith and a gift of grace. All we have to do is accept his sacrifice, and through this, we can start our journey as Christians. God wants us to have a life of freedom. By accepting what Jesus has done for us on the cross we can begin to build a relationship with Him. A relationship with God is not just acknowledging His love for us but by surrendering our life and the plans we have for the life of freedom that awaits us.
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God. who loved me and gave himself for me.
God continually calls us out of darkness and into His light. A life in God’s light is full of freedom in His unconditional love for us. God calls us to be His children and be transformed.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Many of our campers have been able to hear this message and experience God’s love for the first time this week! We can’t wait to see how God continues to grow in the hearts of our campers.
