G’day from Pine Cove Outback! The first full day of camp has been a beautiful one. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and campers are hearing the Gospel through fun activities, intentional conversations, and Bible studies.

Today, we participated in our first counselor-lead Bible study in each individual cabin. Throughout the week we will be focusing on the theme Purpose: why were we created and for what? We are all seeking to find our purpose, but we tend to look in all the wrong places. This week we will be digging into scripture to find the Biblical truths of why God created each and every one of us.

Monday’s memory verse is:

So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:27

In the beginning, our purpose was clearly designed by God, but in our sin it was lost. However this is where the good news of Jesus comes in. Through Christ’s death on the cross, our purpose has been restored and made complete in Him and Him alone. Although we all have different paths throughout our lives, we were all created for the same purpose: to worship and glorify our maker.

Please pray with us.

  1. Pray that campers would hear and believe that their identity is in Christ alone.
  2. Pray that campers would open up quickly to one another and experience genuine fellowship throughout the week.
  3. Pray that we would all be finding our joy and strength in the Lord.
