Parents! Our first full day of camp was a blast, and we are so happy to be sharing this week with your camper. Christ is already working through counselors and staff alike to share the truth of who He is.
Everyday, cabins gather together after lunch for good ol’ Bible study. Today, campers and counselors began to discuss our theme for the summer, “Purpose,” and who we are as God’s creation. Tuesday’s memory verse was:
“For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Campers discussed who God is, why He created us, and the role we get to play as a child of God. Isaiah 43:7 tells us that we were created by God, for God. We are to use our lives to glorify Him in everything we do, whether it be in word or deed. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says if we are eating or drinking, in all that we do, we are to do all to the glory of God our Father. He deserves every single bit of our praise! Our life is not our own, and we should use the life He breathes into us to glorify Him alone.
Today campers also answered the question, “Do you think God needs your praise?” It may have come as a surprise to many, but God does not NEED our praise. We were made to worship our Savior. When we use our lives for our intended purpose, we will find that we are more satisfied and fulfilled than anything else we give our attention to.
Please pray with us.
- Pray that campers would find themselves experiencing true worship.
- Pray that times of worship, whether singing at club or reading scripture, would be free of distractions.
- Pray that transformed, new lifestyles of worship would continue outside of camp.
