Here at the Timbers, we have had the opportunity to point our campers to truth about comparison and our identity in God. Comparison is a hard battle for both guys and girls. Whether it’s thinking you are not pretty enough, athletic enough or smart enough, the truth is that we were all created and are seen as perfect in the eyes of our Creator.
God has made us completely unique in who we are and in our talents. We have been given our gifts and qualities for a purpose.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Down to our fingerprints, every single person is unique from one another. Our God who created the universe has also intricately designed you and me. We are called to take our uniqueness and interests and use those to glorify our Creator.
Sometimes we feel that not being like everyone else is a bad thing. Maybe you don’t like the same things your friends do or you dress differently. However, God calls us to embrace our differences and let them shine. Being unique allows us to be bold in our talents that God has given us. God made us with a unique purpose and we are viewed as masterpieces in His eyes.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
We can’t wait to see all of the ways your campers will embrace their uniqueness and identity in God as we finish up our week!
