We just finished up our first full day here at the Timbers, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of the week! Throughout many of our activity classes, our campers were able to encourage one another and overcome fears! From blobbing to zip-lining, they had the opportunity to lift each other up as they took that leap of faith.

Just as they encouraged one another to not be afraid, God encourages us constantly to be bold and courageous in Him. The phrase “Fear not” is in the bible 103 times as a constant reminder of His security and peace.

The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?
-Psalm 27:1

When fears come into our lives, God calls us to boldly overcome them. We have nothing to fear when we are walking fully with God.

Today we got to see many of our campers take the leap of faith on the zip-line or blob with huge smiles on their faces. Just like jumping off that platform, trusting in God is the same way. We may have doubts and fears about what will happen next, but there is always joy in Him as a result. Our God is a God of unconditional joy and peace that overcomes fears.

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.
-1 Peter 1:8
