G’day from Pine Cove Outback!

It has been a great start to the week, and we sure are glad your camper is here! Our Monday started off by cleaning our cabins during a time we call Pit N’ Palace! We not only use this time to clean, but to teach campers about being good stewards of what the Lord has blessed us with. We then gathered outside for Flag, where we thank God for our nation like we do every morning but especially today in honor of America’s birthday! We decked out the entire Boom (our dining hall) with patriotic decorations and eagerly awaited for tonight’s celebrations.

After flag we go into a time of FOCUS. We firmly believe in getting into God’s Word at the beginning of each day. Once we fueled our minds with scripture and our bodies with yummy pancakes and sausage, we were ready for our first round of activity classes! Campers enjoyed activities like blobbing in the lake, playing paintball, and going down the zipline.

Lunch was full of corn dogs, funny skits, and celebrating the cabins with the most spirit and best cleaning skills. After lunch we headed back to our cabins for some good ol’ Bible study. This week, our Bible studies and Club talks will be over the theme of “Purpose.” Campers and counselors will get the opportunity to talk about why we were created and for what purpose. Today’s memory verse comes from Genesis.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:27

After Bible study we got the opportunity to rest inside during F.O.B. (Flat On Back). Campers and counselors alike were rejuvenated and ready to take on our fourth round of activity classes. Then all too soon, the much anticipated time of the day was upon us: FREE TIME! Campers get to spend this time at different activities around camp and at the camp store, stocking up on goodies.

Dinner time flag was awesome. We were all dressed up in crazy, cool, patriotic outfits and lowering the flag was so exciting in anticipation of Fourth of July celebrations. After dinner we had CLUB, an incredible IndepenDANCE party, and then we watched fireworks over Lake Shalom! I think it’s safe to say that we have had an exciting start to our week!

Please pray with us.

  1. Pray that relationships would form quickly between campers and their cabins.
  2. Pray that campers would hear and believe in their purpose found in Jesus Christ.
  3. Pray for the safety of campers and staff as we partake in all kinds of fun activities this week.
