Good Morning Parents!

As we kick off Friday of week 2, I would love to give you a recap of last night’s CLUB, and some things that God has been doing here at camp! Throughout the week here at the Towers, many campers and staff have experienced God’s abundant grace and love as we all learn more about His Word.

Last night at CLUB, we spent time in worship before we heard a message from our camp director, Andrew “Get Smart” Boshell. During this time of worship, we excitedly proclaimed the name of Christ and reflected on all that Christ has done for us.

Our worship leader, George “Caps Lock” Hornok, led us in the song “Man of Sorrows.” Campers and counselors loudly declared that their salvation comes from Christ.

Oh that rugged cross
My salvation
Where Your love poured out over me
Now my soul cries out
Praise and honour unto Thee

Hearing campers sing about their salvation and the love that Christ poured out on them, was truly amazing as a staffer to hear. As I stood in the back listening to worship, the sound of the campers singing out on this chorus, brought me to tears. To see 280 campers proclaim His name truly broke me.

As I listened to campers sing about their salvation, it reminded me of a conversation some of the staffers had during our weekly bible study earlier yesterday afternoon. Throughout the summer, all staff participate in studying James and 1 Peter, and during this time a conversation came up regarding faith and grace.

We looked at what grace and faith look like when we come to know Christ as our Lord and Savior. Grace, seen in Ephesians 2:8, is a beautiful thing for it is from God. We ourselves do not deserve grace for we are sinners, just like Romans 3:10 points out. I am truly amazed at the love that our God has for us to give us abundant grace, to the point that He sent his son to be the sacrifice for our sins. This grace that God extends to us is beyond my understanding, but I am so thankful for the grace that God provides.

He gives us grace allowing us to understand the Gospel message, and also faith to believe the message. This faith to believe Him is only by the grace He gives us. Faith is the foundation of our relationship with Christ, for we must have faith that He is the Son of God. Just as I watched many campers this week place their faith in the high ropes equipment, that it would not fail them, we place our faith in God knowing that by his Grace, we have life in Him.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God
Ephesians 2:8 ESV

The abundant grace and abounding faith that God has revealed to us has been made new in many campers’ lives this week! And as a staff, we praise God for the life change that is happening in so many young campers!

Parents, tonight I will share more of what has happened throughout the day today. Until then, please be praying for your camper and the life change that God is doing here at the Towers.
