G’day from Pine Cove Outback!

It has been a great start to the week, and we sure are glad your camper is here. Our day started off by cleaning our cabins during a time we call Pit N’ Palace! We not only use this time to clean, but to teach campers about being good stewards of what the Lord has blessed us with. We soon gathered outside for flag before going into a time of FOCUS. We firmly believe in getting into God’s Word at the beginning of each day. Once we fueled our minds with scripture and our bodies with yummy pancakes and sausage, we were ready for our first round of activity classes! Campers enjoyed the afternoon in activities from blobbing in the lake to climbing the Power Pole.

After our lunch program, full of skits, birthday raps, celebrating the cabin with the most spirit and more, we headed back to our cabins for some good ol’ Bible study. This week, our Bible studies and Club talks will be over the theme of “Purpose”. Campers and counselors will get the opportunity to talk about why we were created and for what purpose. Today’s memory verse comes from Genesis.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:27

After Bible study we got the opportunity to rest inside during F.O.B. (Flat On Back). Campers and counselors alike were rejuvenated and ready to take on our fourth round of activity classes. Then all too soon, the much anticipated time of the day was upon us: FREE TIME! Campers get to spend this time at different activities around camp and at the camp store, stocking up on goodies.

Before we knew it we were headed to flag dressed in bright colors in preparation for our theme night, Crayotic Color Craze! Dinner involved lots of spaghetti and meatballs and then finally we were off to our respective places of C-L-U-B or theme night events.

For our theme night game, campers got a chance to play an amped up version of capture the flag with tie dyed socks and makeshift crayons. Each team had to run to the other side without getting tagged, and retrieve the socks that would make their crayons complete. They also had to watch out for the Crayotic Color Crackens (staffers with pool noodles). Tonight was a blast with lots of running around and laughter as the sun went down.

Please pray with us.

  1. Pray that relationships would form quickly between campers and their cabins.
  2. Pray that campers would hear and believe in their purpose found in Jesus Christ.
  3. Pray for the safety of campers and staff as we partake in all kinds of fun activities this week.
