We’re sad that camp is over, but we’re excited for the conversation about Jesus to continue outside of camp! We wrapped up our lessons on the Gospel by talking about John 19:1-7, Romans 6:23, and John 20:18. Through these verses, we built on what we learned this past week. Jesus, who was one with God at the beginning of time, came down to earth in the form of a man. He didn’t have to do this, but He wanted to because He loves us. He lived a perfect, sinless life. Even though He was innocent of sin, He was put to death on a cross. He didn’t stay in the grave, though. Three days later He rose from the dead! He took on all of our punishment and sin so that in Him, we can have life forever. You have an amazing opportunity to expand on the things we’ve learned at camp this week. To help you out, here are the last set of discussion questions for you to ask you camper.
- Jesus came to earth to die for our sins.
- Jesus rose from the dead after three days.
- We can have eternal life through Jesus.

Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe and went up to him again and again, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they slapped him in the face. Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews gathered there, “Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.” When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe,Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!” As soon as the chief priests and their officials saw him, they shouted, “Crucify! Crucify!”
But Pilate answered, “You take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him.” The Jewish leaders insisted, “We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God.”
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
“Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.”
