Dear Friends and Family of Silverado Campers,
Hello from the Media Team! Its “#NoFilter” here and I have the wonderful opportunity to lead our awesome group of media staff as the Head of Media this summer. I wanted to share with y’all the entire focus of our jobs this summer as a media team and some of the cool things we get to see around camp from our unique angle.
Above all things we do, we desire to keep Christ at the center of it all no matter what! This means that our media team is not a group of wanderers through camp that just take photos and videos, but we are actually able to join in with campers during meals, theme nights, and many other events throughout the day. We are 100 percent willing to set down our cameras (in a safe place of course) in order to serve campers and interact with them to make sure they are having the best week possible.
The second most important part of our job is that we get to help create quality visuals that will allow our campers, their families and friends, and our staff to remember the incredible life changing times they have while they are at Camp! Years down the line we hope that they will go back to see these photos and videos as a reflection of the Gospel and even be able to share it with others as a testament to the life change that occurs when we have a true relationship with Christ. We refer to these kind of tools as Ebenezer’s, a tangible (or digital in our case) object that glorifies God by allowing us to remember and reflect upon what he has done for us.
Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.” 1 Samuel 7:12
We truly hope that y’all are enjoying the media content so far and can see the work the Lord is doing here and within your campers this week.
