Shores Week 1 was absolutely phenomenal! Each camper grew closer to the Lord as the counselors and staff poured God’s love into their lives. A fun opening day was followed by fantastic theme nights throughout the week!
Sunday night’s theme was “Shports”! It was a great icebreaker as campers got to know the camp, other campers, and play different kinds of sports including volleyball, spikeball, soccer, and frisbee. Tuesday was the all-time favorite– Espionage! Campers valiantly tried to reach the top of Espionage hill, but were met by the resistive force of one of our counselors, “KGB.” Superhero Shakedown ended Wednesday with a very exciting dance party! After the pumped up dance party, Thursday evening brought some relaxation (but still fun and excitement) with Dock Rock. Campers got to take a cruise in one of the boats and enjoy pizza while watching the beautiful sunset over Lake Palestine.
On Wednesday, the Associate Director, G-Snap, gave a wonderful talk focusing on 1 John 1 and the powerful light that is Jesus Christ. G-Snap spoke about the power of the Gospel and explained that when we try to live apart from God, there is only darkness. Only through Christ can we be purified from our sin and live a life walking in His marvelous light.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1 John 1:7
The staff have a hopeful expectancy for what God can do in the lives of campers and are in constant prayer to see Christ move here at the Shores. Throughout this week, God has given students the objective reality of the true identity that comes through Him.
Thank you for entrusting us with your campers this week! We hope and pray that they grew closer to our Lord and saw the Gospel lived out in our staff.
