Hello again parents and families! We are having the best week at the Ridge. Campers have jumped, danced, lost their voices, and so much more. We are seeing the Lord do some amazing work in these kids lives. Today has been an amazing day and we can’t wait to share with you what we have been up to.
After breakfast, campers headed to their three activity classes for the day. Some cabins got to hang out at the lake, some people got to blob, and others got to swim at the pool. At these classes, the counselors lead the campers in a devotional that related to the activity that they would be doing there. They talked to the kids about how all that we do relates back to the Lord and what He has done for us. We pray that the campers see Jesus in all that we do here.
Following activity classes everyone headed back to to the Cav for lunch. At lunch we talked about all things free time, cabin competitions, spirit stick, and pit and palace. At lunch our skit characters made their way back to the stage. Tide and his sidekick came back out to talk about their evil plan. As they were talking, Chip and Dale came back out to tell the campers how they got back in from being locked out. They also came to the realization that the Tide hates candles. They brought one with them and scared Tide away. We can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow during our last day of skit.
After lunch, campers and counselors headed back to the cabins to study more of Psalm 119. They looked at how to stand in God’s Word and truly live it out. After FOB, campers got to choose their last activity class of the day. Then it was time for free time! This often is the campers favorite time of the day. They get to spend time with their friends and cabin-mates, play in the gym, and swim.
From here, everyone went back to their cabin to change into their yacht club theme night outfit and head out to one of our porches for dinner. They were able to eat and watch the sunset as they got ready to swim, wakeboard, and blob. Yacht club has always been a camper favorite. Campers have the opportunity to take a turn on the wake park, swim in the pool, or head to the lake to hang out.
Then we all headed to our gym to worship with our worship team and hear a message from our Associate Director, Pops. He gave a powerful message that dove into the armor of God and why we, as believers, choose to stand in it. The passage of Scripture that we looked at was Ephesians 6: 13-17. This passage goes deeper into the armor of God that we get to put on as believers.
We are excited that we still have one more day with your campers, but sad that we are going to have to say “see you later” so soon. We kindly ask that you continue to pray over our last day and time here during week 2. The Lord is moving in big ways here.
