This morning in the Bible study we talked about who we are before Christ and how sin separates us from God. We started by discussing who a hero is and the different heroes in our lives. The one thing they all have in common is strength and sacrifice. Then we got to talk about how Jesus is the ultimate hero because He made the ultimate sacrifice— dying on the cross for our sins. Before sin entered the world, the relationship between man and God was free of sin.
“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. So the Lord God called out to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
Because sin entered the world, every human is in need of a Savior. Whenever we realize this need and accept the invitation to live in relationship with God, we can rejoice and walk in freedom.
“He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.”
